Stomates are groups of cells which regulate the flow of air into the leaves. The stomates in these pictures were found on the underside of a leaf.

PROCEDURE:
1. Paint the underside of the leaf with clear nail polish
2. When the polish is dry, peel if off.
3. Mount the peeling on a glass slide.
4. View under the microscope and take pictures! :)

The cells that look like windows (with the bars on top) are stomata cells :)
