My first American Halloween ever! :) Went around as the "designated adult" with Jai and his friends. It was fun... but I can't help but feel that trick or treating is really just one big candy dash. Haha :)

My nephew rushed into the living room the other day, frantically looking for a camera.  He was told that there was an eagle on the street.  Not just flying around, but literally, on the street.

No way was I going to pass up the chance to see an eagle.

So, armed with my trusty Sony, Jose and I made our way up the street as stealthily as we could.  Sure enough, he was there, standing imperiously on the corner, looking like he owned everything.  It was an awesome sight.  When we moved closer, he had already turned his back on us, but his wings were still sort of spread out.  See:

He's almost as big as a tire!

I wish we could have come closer, but we were scared.  :(  I mean, what if he got into a rage and flew at us with claws ready?  So we watched from a pretty safe distance.  After we took pictures, we went inside to report to Mom... when I went out again, he was gone :(  But it was so great that we saw him.  And there was a smaller eagle-like bird perched on the tree right above this guy, too!

One of the perks of living in Palo Alto... :)

Cay came over for a weekend so we had girl time and family time :) Saturday night we had a movie date at home with my nephew. Cay and I finally got to watch Spiderman 1. Hehe. So much fun watching Palo Alto native James Franco (I love you, Harry!).

We heard mass the next day and family lunch at Olive Garden. Then we did the most touristy thing we could think of: we toured Stanford University and camwhored to our hearts' content. Hehehe :P

(I went to mass at Santa Clara pa that night but didn't get to take pictures. Sayang)

It was a great weekend :)
