for everyone
My week was quite a star studded one :)

STAR 1:  Comet Holmes
Friday night, I was at the Foothill College Observatory looking at Comet Holmes through the telescope.  Comet Holmes is currently visible, somewhere near the constellation Perseus.  It will be visible till the end of November daw.  Look for Cassiopeia (the W on its side) and look down... you'll see a fuzzy looking star between two stars.  For a better idea of where to look for it, look at this guide from http://weblogs.marylandweather.com/Comet%2BHolmes%2BFinder_l.jpg:

For me it was much prettier when seen with the naked eye.  Looking at it through the telescope, it looked like a big fuzzy cloud with hardly any dimension.  It's nowhere as nice as the 1997 Hale-Bopp comet (which was just plain awesome -- Hale-Bopp had the perfect head and tail), but it's quite pretty, too.  And it was nice looking up and seeing a celestial visitor passing by :)  I'm really going to miss it :(  On the flight home, the skies were clear enough for me to say goodbye to my comet (as I now call it)... but since it's been raining, I doubt I'll get to see it again.  At least I bid my comet goodbye already last weekend.

STAR 2:  Andromeda Galaxy, Pegasus nebula, Orion nebula, and Mars
I grouped them all together... saw all these through the telescope too!  The galaxy sort of looked like the comet... it looked like a fuzzy cloud.  But the nebulae were beautiful!  What looked like blobs of light with the naked eye were really swirls of stars.  I loved it!  And Mars was as big as a marble but it wasn't red... it was explained why it wasn't red but I sort of wasn't paying attention.  Oops.  :)

STAR 3:  Steve Jobs
YES!!! I saw THE star of the Computer World.  It doesn't particularly matter that I am not an Apple user. Hehehe. The point is... I saw Steve Jobs, lounging in his study, laughing while talking on the phone with somebody.  How many people can say they've seen that?  Stalker.  Hahaha :)

STAR 4:  Epi Quizon
He was right in front of us while we were in line for our flight home. He's actually quite good looking, but not my type.  I resisted the urge to ask my sister to take my picture with him.  Hehe :D

STAR 5:  Shooting Stars

Prior to this trip, I've never sat beside a window during a night flight.  It was quite an experience looking out the window and seeing the stars practically at eye level.  Since there was no in flight entertainment during the time I was awake, I just looked out the window and counted shooting stars.  I saw 4 slow moving stars, and 2 streaks of light that were more like the normal every day shooting stars.   Ganda  :)   I already got the safe-trip-home-wish... sana I get the others also :P
